This was a re-post of the original August 4, 2021 "Goals" post. The restoration work in the dog park was not very advanced in 2021 so I pulled my pics of the goals of the restoration work mostly from the internet, not the park. Today, I could do this post using photos actually taken in the park itself.
While Facebook posts on Earth One focused on looking forward in anticipation, Anissa took what she could use from those posts and ran it through a wood chipper to paint a picture of senseless destruction.
Lies? Let me count the ways ...
1) Goat slope is Dry Prairie, NOT Oak Opening.
2) She presents my GOAL pics from the internet as "Before" pics from the dog park.
3) Notice the "After" pics are all taken in winter for maximum ugliness.
Anissa claims: "Goat slope is an Oak Opening." She doesn't even bother to crop out the original caption that tells the reader it is actually designated as Dry Prairie.
And, instead of appreciating the point that restoration work in the dog park keeps a beautiful oak in an area designated as Dry Prairie, Anissa complains later that this means that no "plan" is being followed!!
This photo was not included in the Earth Two post. In it, "goat slope" and "the lonely oak" look much too green and inviting. Earth Two pictures are mostly taken in winter.
Notice the selective trimming of the caption. Not cutting down all the trees would not fit the Earth Two narrative.
This photo was also not included in the Earth Two version. Planting trees doesn't fit the Earth Two narrative about the destruction of restoration work.
With her post shared to a group we both belonged to (and one with a much bigger audience than the Dog Park Friends) we could both comment on it. I was banned from Dog Park Friends and she was banned from Prairie Moraine Friends, Inc. Earth One and Earth Two are a bit like matter and anti-matter. Dog Park Friends always claimed that they didn't ban people, but of course all those who could contradict that have been banned!!
I hope it is clear that if the picture on the left really was a "Before" picture, then no cutting would have been needed or done!
We're working on it, but you'll still have to walk the on-leash Ice Age Trail side of the park to enjoy restored Oak Woodlands of this quality.
